Help Ivo raise money

We are riding in the Port Perry Pedals fundraiser 20 km route this Sunday to raise funds for the first  PET CT scanner in Durham Region.
Port Perry Pedals is a charitable cycling event based in Port Perry, ON – a picturesque, historic community on the shores of Lake Scugog in the Region of Durham, about one hour north-east of Toronto. It was founded in 2021 by Marc Gibbons in partnership with the Rotary Club of Port Perry.  In 2023, we are raising founds for state-of-the-art imaging equipment as part of Lakeridge Health Foundation's "Our Cancer" campaign.  In 2023, Port Perry Pedals is raising funds to support the purchase of state-of-the-art cancer diagnostic equipment. Critical to the cancer journey for many, a PET CT scan helps determine the size, location and stage of a person’s cancer. Currently 30 patients a week are being sent outside Durham Region for PET CTs because the closest scanners of this kind are in Toronto and beyond.  Co-founder Marc Gibbons has had 8 PET CTs so far during his own cancer treatment – imagine the stress, energy and travel time required to head into the city when the rest of your care can happen minutes from home! Like Marc, many patients rely on PET CTs during the course of their cancer journey and through our fundraising, we’re stepping up to ensure the very best cancer equipment and care is available in our community.Tax receipts are issued for all donations $20 and over.
